Plato is a fine gentleman of indeterminate age. If you'd asked me when he first came into rescue, scared, not eating, paralyzed in his hindquarters, I would have said 10-12. Watching him now, months later, running around the yard and going up and down stairs, I'd peg him at closer to 5-6. He is one of three Bassets dumped in a shelter, the only one to make it out alive. One scared soul snapped at a kennel worker and was immediately put down. A second one bloated. Only Plato survived. Today, he is a classically-built boy with only slight wonkiness in his hind legs. He loves to play and run and is good with dogs of all sizes. He's very personable with tons of love to give the right person. Plato has a heart murmur and is on Lasix and Enalapril. He is also HW+ but is not strong enough to survive immiticide treatment -- he IS on the slow kill treatment and in another six months or so should be virtually heartworm free....
