Antique Oak Spindleback Armchair in Knoxville, Tennessee For Sale

The chair is in very good condition and does not need to be refinished.
Dimensions are 24” wide x 21” deep x 42” high.
This can be used in a living room as an additional chair, but I think it works best as a “captain’s chair” at the dining table. Although it is not a caneseat, it is very compatible with my set of 4 caneseat dining chairs. (See them listed on Craigslist Knoxville Antiques or Ebay Knoxville Classifieds Antiques.)
Unike the dining chairs mentioned above, it has more of the orange color of golden oak or even a red oak , depending on the light, than the dining chairs, which have strictly a light oak finish. This also makes the armchair a better companion for my Extension Table, which has a bit of a red oak coloration, but it still looks good with my Banquet Table. Like the dining chairs, this is also a pressback armchair, but it has more elaborate pressings in the back than the dining chairs, with their simpler grape leaf and cluster pattern.
It has 7 spindles in the back and 4 on each side. It also has a wire support on each side in front of the spindles.
The seat is a perforated board. The seat will need to be replaced or reinforced at some point but it is good for now. I will include the beige cushion seen in one of the pictures below.
Also unlike the dining chairs, there is no tiger oak pattern in the armchair.
